Hello All,

I am trynig to prepare for the time when I dump this POS floppy drive. Presently I cannot do this if I wish to install XPpro onto a disk on my highpoint RAID controller. During the normal initial install sequence for XP I am allowed to hit F6 (I think) for 3rd party drivers (for storage devices), but its always pointing to look at the floppy drive.

Is there a way around this? My computers usually have two ROM drives (CD, DVD) and I'd rather store the RAID controller drivers on a CD-R than a floppy.

Well, Im not sure if it is the correct way....but all I do is hook up the system without using raid...install windows...then install my raid drivers....hook up raid configuration..then wa-la, it works.

This would not be an option if the default Intel/VIA/SiS/nVidia/AMD motherboard chipset does not support 48-bit LBA addressing (required for hard drives over 137GB) and you want a single large volume (like a 180GB single-volume disk).
