Ok, so I got my FX5900 and ran a bunch of benchmarks on it... and I've been toying with the idea of getting better RAM so I can run a 233 Mhz bus with the RAM in sync. So I decided to mess with my CPU a little... and for some odd reason, now it's stable at 2.3 Ghz on 1.700 volts. When I first got it, it wasn't stable at 2250 even at 1.750 volts. I wonder if it has anything to do with the FX5900's external power supply... maybe it takes some load off the motherboard because it doesn't need to suck all it's juice through the AGP slot. My voltages are more stable now, so I think that's probably the reason... but that's still odd that the video card made THAT big a difference. BTW... temps only increased by 4-5 degrees C (diode temps).
I'll update my sig when I have all those benchmarks completed again.
