New XP install turned the backup drive into a dynamic drive.

I just did a fresh install of XP on a friend's machine. We put all his backup stuff on his secondary drive, a Seagate 160 GB, I installed XP on the master drive, a WD 40 gig. Now, once I go to Disk Management it says I need to switch the Seagate to a basic drive but in turn it will lose everything on the drive. Is there anyway for me to save all the stuff on the secondary drive? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
