just picked one up yesterday for my bday.

It seems total system power usage compared to my radeon 3870 was reduced by 30 watts at idle and remained about the same under full load.

Performance is slightly above the 3870 and I can run cuda stuff now :)

I'm happy with the purchase, nice price/performance and power/performance ratios for me.
I only got the 512MB version, but I doubt this will be noticed. even tho I do game at 2048x1536
most the games I play are either 5yrs or older, or run on a gf2

I guess this will be my stop-gap purchase untill 40nm and opencl comes out :)

I'm curious as to how it responds to undervolting. Have you dabbled in it? :D Anyway, congrats.

Without modding the board itself I can't change the clocks/voltages yet
untill support is added to nvclock since I only use linux
not a big deal for me tho, I'm patient :)

Happy birthday! Glad you're happy with your purchase. Too bad I know nothing about gaming under Linux. :(

No, I play only linux native games or games that have been ported to linux (a linux installer).
Lotsa people do use wine tho.

I mostly ignore any game that comes out if it don't work with linux.
I buy games that support linux when they come out ie: doom3, quake4, ut3(dissapointed)
I don't need the latest and greatest games in most cases anyways.

BTW ut99 is giving me like 400FPS at 2048x1536 with max details and high AA/AF :) lol
