Hi everyone,
I just recently bought an XFX 8800GTS XXX 320mb card and I have been having a few problems with it. It came with Ghost Recon AWF, and as soon as I start playing it, the ground flickers black, the sky has black triangles cut out of it.

The Sims 2 has similar problems with models flickering.

I am running Vista Ultimate x64, using drivers 162.22.

Do you think that its faulty, or is it the bad vista drivers again?

I don't think it is overheating since it happens as soon as it gets into the game.

I will try the card in an XP install as soon as I get the chance. I just thought I'd ask what everyone thinks...

It sounds like a faulty card to me from what you've described.
What you see is artifacts (a nice/fancy tech term for graphic garbage).
I have an eVGA 8800GTS(640mb) using driver 162.22 on Vista 64 OS and everything seems to work to my satisfactions.
Just wanted to make sure what you currently use is 64 bit 162.22 driver, not 32?
Is the card overclocked, too?

Definately 64bit. And the card is overclocked by design. I have not overclocked it myself.

Is there an option you can try the new video card at another system, to ruling out the rest (of the components) but the card itself?
Or can you use or re-install the previous card to rule that out too?
Otherwise, just prepare for a RMA process.

Yea, I have two other systems with different configs I can try. I might test it in them and see how it goes. Thanks again.
