new xfce convert

just downloaded, compiled, and installed xfce 4. it sure looks a lot nicer now that it's using gtk 2. it sure beats fluxbox
 
I have been using XFCE since its 3.x days. I primarily started using it because it resembled CDE (which was the DE for the HP-UX machines in my school's lab). It seemed to lack eye-candy, but its fast and takes up less resources. I gave XFCE4 beta a spin for a few days, and its nice, too, but these days, I'm a wmaker guy...
 
It's a bullshit WM, it doesn't even let you manually specify always on top/always on bottom. Oliver, the developer, refused to implement that feature, claiming that it's the applications fault.

to roughly quote mackstann, god forbid the user actually wants control over his desktop...
