...finially got the drivers working, switching from Nvidia to ATi was a pain, I couldn't have done
it without the tips that were provided in this forum. Thanks to all who answered my earlier query!

I'm now using the latest drivers from ATi (Catalyst 4.6). I haven't benched any games yet,
but my 3DMark03 scores were:

9415 Default Driver settings/no O'C (473/446)
9506 Default Driver settings w/Overdrive core (506/446)
10538 Default Driver settings w/ATi Tool O'C (516/547)

I can live with that...concidering my 5900 Ultra's best was 6680.... :D

9415 stock looks low for an X800 Pro, maybe you might want to try a clean install of XP. Those old nVidia drivers might be affecting performance.

meh, i don't think it's that low, maybe if he had an A64 3400+ or something.. but with that CPU, seems right... but thats just me :p

...actually, if you look at the data base on 3DMark03 for P4s 2.8-3.2GHz utilizing an X800Pro, my O'C score was actually pretty good. Out of over 50 scores ranging from 11551-4214 mine was only about tenth from the top.

Why is it that everytime something bad happens that revolves around a Windows driver problem, the first thing that people will suggest is to reinstall windows.
I'm sorry but not every computer owner can just reformat his/her harddrive on a whim.
It's unrealistic to expect to have to do so, just to get some video drivers to function.
I'm not what you'd call an "NVidia Fanboy", I buy whats fast and what works...be it Voodoo 3DFx or GeForce or Radeon. Since WinXP came out I've never had to jump through the hoops that I did with
this new card, just to get the drivers to work. With Nividia cards that I've had, driver uninstall/install has been pretty painless. I knew the track record of ATi and thier drivers, but I did the best overall upgrade card for my computer. Of course, now I find out that by using the latest ATi drivers (ver. 4.6), the game that I began before the upgrade (Thief Deadly Shadows) has it's graphics hosed by these drivers and I must revert to the drivers that came on the card's install CD.
...sometimes ya just can't win....

(please, don't "flame" me in responce, I've now gotten off my soapbox) ;)

I think those scores are about right. Completely untweaked, I'm getting around 11700+ with my x800xt and AMD64 3400+.
