They'll go slim eventually. The next chipset after Jasper is rumored to put the CPU and GPU on the same die. That would be a huge savings in cost and heat that would allow for a smaller case.
 
Yeah I don't know, 360 didn't shrink much from the original Xbox, I don't see how they're gonna make the next Xbox any smaller than the current version w/o overheating. I mean we're talking about "next generation" power here. You're gonna need a lot of cooling, combo chip or not. But we'll see.
 
Hopefully a die shrink + GPU/CPU combo would reduce the cooling needed for the system. Then maybe they could release a slimline 360, or at least one that didn't need such a big power brick.
