I can't remember where I saw the link anymore, but supposedley there's a new X-Wing Trilogy coming out? Anybody know if that is just a repackaged X-Wing or is it actually something new?

You can read more about it at the Lucasarts webpage

Seems like a good deal. Couldn't get X-wing or Tie Fighter to work on my system for some reason, and on my old system they didn't run because of my crappy Ensonique Soundscape card 🙁

there was a new version of tie fighter and xwing a while back that were upgraded to support directx, hardware acceleration that is... i have that. it had that flight school version of xwing v tie fighter too...

the games supported the custom missions and stuff that were made for the original dos release. the dos release will not run properly on win9x. but these new versions worked fine...

the things were in "x-wing collectors series"...

Yes X-Wing and Tie Fighter were really good games. I played the collector's versions on the Mac (it's along story) of both games, but they were only software versions. There are new repackaged versions of X-Wing and Tie-Fighter for Windows which have Direct 3D accelerated graphics.

I will definitely get this package when it comes out. The only thing I don't like is the fact that X-Wing Alliance won't play without a joystick. The previous games allowed the use of a mouse but X-Wing Alliance won't even start up if it can't detect a joystick. That is probably one of the stupidest decisons I have ever seen. If I want to use a mouse I should be able to.

is this the same games that were released ages ago?

i have the original x-wing (on floppy) and it will run in win98, and i have tie-fighter collectors cd, which must run under dos 🙁

wouldn't mind getting it all again 🙂

Yes, this is a compilations of X-Wing, Tie Fighter, X-Wing Alliance and the Fight School. I'm assuming they've updated X-Wing and Tie Fighter to use the latest graphics technology..Regards
