I am working on a project givin to me by m boss. he wants me to build a fairly decent computer with SCSI (I think thats the abbriviation) Hardrive capabilities. problem is I havent the slightest clue of what to look for in SCSI. I kinda need a bit of a crash coarse. Also if you would post some good makers of scsI Cards. and how common is a motherboard that can handle it? Thanks

Why does he feel the need for SCSI? If he has some answer like "it performs better -or- it's sp much faster" try talking him out of it in place of a nice 7200 rpm IDE. If he wants to ultimately put together a massive RAID stripe then yes ok, go with the SCSI but the performance benefit of a SCSI card and single drive is a non issue.

With SCSI, you basically buy a SCSI card, adaptec is the most popular, and a SCSI HD. The card goes in the slot, the drive attaches to the controller and the bios gets set appropriately to boot off the add in card. If the system will have multiple SCSI devices like a few drives, CD and scanner...the only thing you need to worry about is putting each device on a unique SCSI ID number...ususally set by jumpers on the device itself. Other than that it's pretty straight forward...
