The Wonder Woman costume for NBC’s remake of the 1970’s series has been revealed, and is stirring up some controversy -- from Fox News.

On Friday, FoxNews.com republished a July 2010 piece which took issue with the loss of Wonder Woman’s stars and stripes.

“The new and allegedly improved Wonder Woman (a.k.a Diana Prince) has been given a head-to-toe makeover by artist Jim Lee, replacing her signature American flag decorated briefs with skintight…pants and purging the super hero of all her trappings of Americana,” the story claimed.

A spokesperson for the heroine’s creator, DC Comics, defended the costume change, telling the website. “The latest evolution of Wonder Woman’s iconic costume is a central part of the latest comic book storyline. All of the classic symbols – patriotic (stars, eagle) and heroic (lasso, bracelets) – are ever-present.”

This photo and the expression of the actor just sucks. I should be interested by her, but instead I'm wondering if she's about to shit herself inside the costume.

Does anyone actually remember the original? It is hard to come up with working super hero stories week after week. Unless they go the Smallville route and add a bunch of teen angst and similar side stories I can't imagine this lasting too long.

Any guesses as to whether this can last long than the Bionic Woman's 8 episodes?
