Is it true that only motherboards with nVidia chipset can be in Sli mode? The stickied thread about motherboard said Intel's chipset p35 is the best for quad-core, but it doesn't support Sli. So if you want to run Sli, you're S.O.L? Thanks

You need a chipset that is licensed to run SLI. Currently, only the Nvidia SLI chipsets are so supported. There is a possibility that some Intel chipsets will be licensed to run SLI soon.

Exactly as aka1nas said.

Do note that in terms of speed, the ONLY place where it makes sense to go with SLI, rather than the next video card up the line is the 8800GTX. That is, 2 8800GTS cards in SLI are not worth it when you can buy 1 GTX card instead. Unless you're prepared to drop a grand on video cards, SLI isn't so much worth it.

Well, I have an 8800GTS already, so you suggest to trade it for a GTX and get another one to make Sli "worth" it?
