New wireless network, my pc keeps getting knocked off

I got the new linksys WRT54G router and WUSB54G v2 adapter. The adapter is connected to my computer. My computer, running xp home, periodically gets bumped off the network.

When I try to reconnect it hangs at acquiring network address. The only way I can seem to get back on the network is to restart my computer. This is very annoying. I am a newb to wireless networks. To install the adapter I just used used drivers off the cd but did not install the software. I am using the zero config util. I saw that a v4 or the adapter came out. Is the v2 known to be buggy?

How can I fix this problem?

I've got a similar problem with my linksys B router. I called tech support and they had me change some numbers in the setup. Now my connection just gets periodically laggy instead of completely bumped off.
