umm ok, I finally found out the problem... the computer was too close to the wall?! How would this possibly interfere with anything? Now signal is a solid very good and internet is moving like it should be. I personally don't like the computer sticking out as far as it is and leaving all the wires showing... any ways around this?
As an experiment, have a friend (child, significant other, complete stranger, etc.) stand with their nose against a wall. You stand 30 feet behind them and have them talk to you.
Now do the same thing with them lying on the floor under your desk, right next to your computer. Then have them turn around and face you and talk to you at exactly the same volume level. Can you tell a difference? I thought so.

The same principle applies to wireless signals. If your computer (with the wireless antenna sticking out of the back (usually very close to the floor) is pushed up against the wall, that wireless signal has nowhere to go because it has to bounce around between the PC and the wall, and likely around under your desk before it can even start to be 'transmitted' to your router. If your router is under a desk, against a wall, etc., it makes the problem even worse.
For a short answer to your question, if you don't want to have to pull your PC away from the wall in order to use a wireless signal, you need to use a USB adapter that you can move around (preferably on top of your desk away from the monitor), or get an extension cable for your current PCI card with an antenna that you can put on top of your desk as well.
