New Wired Mouse Better Than Mx500

I really like my Logitech Mx500 wired mouse but I've decided its time for something new because it is 7 years old now. Can you recommend me a WIRED replacement mouse that is better? The only thing I dislike about the MX500 is that occasionally it will go haywire on certain mouse pads and not point to where I want it to point. Do new mice work better on more surfaces and mouse pads?

If you like the MX500 mouse shape, you really can't go wrong with any of Logitech's new(er) gaming mice. MX518, G5, G500, maybe G9, all of which have been great for almost everyone who uses one. My G5 had a tiny issue with the scroll wheel, but I contacted Logitech and they sent me a brand new rev2 G5, without even asking me to ship back the first one. For that, I'll probably give them my lifelong loyalty for gaming mice.

they've improved the tracking since then, mx5/7xx were very early on in opticals...
unless u got some ridiculous mousepad the new laser ones track just fine. even on decently thick glass tables with the logitech dark laser or whatever they call it. i had the mx700, it was good till it stopped charging🙁 for a while there i swapped batteries manually but it ate a set every 2-3 days. now my mx1100 and v550 last months between battery changes...
the tiny feet were a bother as well. so much mouse tape to keep them from wearing away. you must be riding on plastic by now..
i prefer the g9 and such now. auto profile switching + spin wheel...theres no going back to non spin wheel for windows apps.
