Question New Windows update makes Edge launch at startup.

With every new Windows update, my laptop is getting slower. I should check for silent background bloatware, as mentioned.
Just closing the Edge on your computer may not completely close the browser. You need to kill the background process every time. Or use Command Prompt or Process Manager to kill the background application.

It is hard to go to process manager every time just to close the Edge background process even after we close it.

Interesting. I was fixing to post my own thread on, I believe, the same problem...

I'm still running W10 version 21H2. After the last batch of updates, all of a sudden my system will intermittently blow up and drag the system down...

It is not internet dependent... so I don't think it's transmitting data, but it happens fairly regularly. I did a search, and one article I read linked it to the Edge Updater, so I went into scheduled tasks and there were 2 tasks that once triggered, cycle every hour for the next 24 hours. I disabled those... but the System still does something.

I'll try the fix mentioned above and see what happens...
