Hey all. I just built a new system and installed Windows 10 this evening. Everything is fine, except that I cannot uninstall things like Minecraft and Candy Crush. If I right-click on them in the Start Menu and uninstall them, they disappear, only to reappear when I open the Start Menu again. Likewise, if I go to Personalization -> Start, if I turn of "Show app list in Start menu" and/or "Show recently added apps", as soon as I navigate away from the settings screen, those two options are turned back on.

Any thoughts on how I might rectify this mess?

It turns out that this is a bug with Windows 10. My BIOS clock was set to UTC and Windows interpreted it as Pacific while installing. Once it was up and running, it got the time correct, but thought it was "in the past". For some reason this prevents modifying various things like the Start Menu. Once I crossed over the initial time that Windows thought it was installed at, everything was fine. They really need to spend more time on QA and release fewer new features.

Now these preinstalled apps are found in apps and features (new version of add/remove programs), so you can remove them there.v Good luck with that Dolby Access app, it keeps reinstalling itself
