New Window Size in IE

For some reason when I click a link that opens a new browser window, the browser window that opens is about 2/3 size. I have looked all around the IE options to find this setting without luck. Any ideas?

1. Close all your IE windows.
2. Open up a single IE window.
3. Click and drag a corner of the window to the desired size (do NOT use the maximize button).
4. Hold down the SHIFT key and click the X button in the upper right corner.

New IE windows should remember the new size.

I have XP pro, and my IE opens at the size it was closed. Even if it is maximized.
Not sure of which setting controls it.

I'm pretty sure you have SP2 installed, as a new setting was introduced in SP2.

In IE, go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Security -> Custom Level and then scroll down to the Miscellaneous area and find the item entitled:

"Allow Script-Initiated Windows Without Size or Position Constraints"

And change the setting to ENABLED. That should do it.
