New win2k server need ideas for setting up OU's and groups

Ok i just got a new windows 2000 server, and i work for a school district with upwards of 1500 students, 150+ facilty , we are moving from NT4.0 to 2k and i need some help and ideas on setting up the Ou's and users groups, file system. The 3 OU's i know i want is students, teachers and IT, i want the students broken up into there graduating class so when they graduate i can just dump all the users in that group and start a new one for incoming freshman.

Any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated

Sounds like you have a good idea of what you would like to do.

I used to work at a department in a University, and we kept our student OU's organized by class, you are correct in thinking it makes things alot easier when classes end, as far as user accounts go.

Don't forget to put some thought into organizing your machines too. I generally like to have desktops and servers in different OU's as the policy that gets applied to them is usually very different.

A nice tip, something I like to do is ensure the default User and default Computer containers stay empty, that way if anyone adds a user or computer to the AD, you can spot it right away (helpful in a multiple admin situation).

Any more suggestions on this would be much appreciated, iv taken 2 windows 2000 server installtion corses and groups, and Ou's still confuse me coming from a windows NT 4 background.

Well i have the gropus and OU's setup, my new problem is this. How do i setup disk quotas for the home folder that the user creates upon login? Lets say 5mb
