New Website Design!

I've been working a new website design for my site, actually its more of a start page for me with all my links handy within a few clicks. I've spent about 4 or 5 hours a day for 3 days getting it to work and how I like it , the first day was wasted because I gave up on the design, but the last 2 were all productive. Oh yeah, if there are nay other designers out there, I got done so fast because it didn't require too much imaging in Photoshop and since it was a small site...

My Site!

Oh yeah, move the mosue over the website name to the left to get the menu. I still have some things to work on so its not 100% done. And yes, I will be doig something to emphasize the logo so people realize it brings up the menu. Again, I still have some work to do, but the major part is done. Any comments would be appreciated. Oh yes, origional design is by soloplay. I'll be putting a credits link and more soon...

nice, the bottom toolbar/taskbar thing gets annoying, it keeps disappearing and is hard to get back up...good flash work tho :0

I'd make the bar come up and stay up.

I think I'll triple the length it stays there, keeping it there would remove the "wow" effect, hehe.

Tripled, should be less annoying now. Thanks for the reccomendation joshsquall and chin311.

that menu bar blows. At first I looked at the site, and thought "Yeah, that's not much of a site". Only when I wet to move the mouse button to the "back" button did I find out there was a menu bar, then it took me 3 tries to figure out how to gt it to stay in place long enough to click on.

Graphics effects are nice and all, but not when they affect the functionality of the site. Usability > graphics.

Can you upgrade to 6.0? I know it should be compatible with older browsers but working with DHTML it can get to be a pain and this is more of a personal use site than 10,000+ people in a day site...

True, usability is more important than graphics. I think I'll PM you or e-mail you once I make it more noticeable to roll the mouse over the logo. Thanks for the opinion though.

menu is counter-intuitive

what good is a nice looking site if it annoys people and they don't want to use it?

Ok. I forgot about people at work, hehe. I'll look into getting older browser compatibility. Thanks.

Also, it doesn't work t all in IE 5.02 for OS X. Just a gray screen.

Yeah, waylman couldn't get it to work on IE5.5. I'll try fixing compatibility issues in the next day or two, but with the menu it seems hard.

I'll look for other solutions instead of having it stay there...

I'm using Cutenews, Linky.

I changed the design a bit, i made it so y ou move the mosue over the bottom line of that page, right under the arrows, hehe and that brings up the menu. I sped up the motion of the menu and made it stay longer too.
