Not sure how much different it is going to be from a WD TV Live besides the built in hard drive and no networking support, but looks interesting. The tomshardware link is incorrect about it having a component video output though, there is none when you look at the pictures of it from the wdc link. If you click on specifications once you go to the wdc link it says that it has a component output, but the pictures of it and the interactive 3D view show that it does not, must be an error or something.


No wired/wireless networking support kills it for me. This product should be called a media storage player because that is all it can do, play back movies stored on the internal HD. No internet, no network, no ability to play back your movies stored on network shares = fail.

how does one transfer media on it, with an external hd? what a bunch of oxymorons.

seriously wtf is WD thinking. I like my wdtv live plus cause of the networked shares and netflix. they need to stop developing garbage and start fixing the problems that the live and live plus have with their buggy firmware.

It has a USB port. I can't imagine transferring 2TB over usb, start today finish next week.

I think they are trying to find another way to push their core product = sell more Hard drives :thumbsdown:... I think its a RealTek chipset too...
