I don't know if these are still supported / developed. Perhaps someone owns one, and can tell us more about them. I own QNAP, Lenovo, and Asustor NAS units, but haven't really tried any WD ones. Not sure what SoC that they have in these as well.
Just a gentle reminder, you can get an Asustor AS1102T 2-bay NAS (relatively new product on the market) with a quad-core ARM RealTek SoC, and 2.5GbE-T (just one) for $169.99 @ Amazon. (I bought one.) It doesn't max out the 2.5GbE with 2x 4TB 7200RPM Toshiba drives in RAID-0, but it's faster than 1GbE.
