found this out in pc world news, nyu is experimenting with new interfaces that allow you to use touch screens to manipulate data instead of just input, here is the link to the demo, it seems you need a very fast computer to do it, nevertheless it's very cool indeed:

the first link is very fast, but require you to download some adobe crap in order to watch, try this one, slower, but works better
