I'm building a new computer for my kids, and I'm left with a question about the video. The cpu is an a6-7400k. Given that the rest of the computer will be the same, would I see an improvement if I put my old Radeon HD 7750 in the computer, or would the apu be a better idea than the older discrete card?

Discrete card would be better with such APU. Russian and others will post benches.

You already bought that APU? If using a graphics card better than the integrated graphics, there is no point in buying an APU. Better go with an Intel Pentium in the same price range as that APU.

Your old HD 7750 is DDR3 or GDDR5 version?

HD7750 has 512 GCN shaders @ 800mhz. The APU has 256 GCN shaders @ 756mhz. Assuming the game is not CPU limited, there should be a benefit to using the HD7750 as the primary graphics card.
