Amazing, absolutely amazing. Even in their death 3dfx continue to have better driver support than some other companies. :)

How's the HSR stuff? Is it working better than the beta 1.04.01 drivers?

Looks like the drivers are OK. There are many new parameters to change both in OGL and D3D. Tried several games, all work fine, UT had some strange ripple on the font in the menu (glide only), but the game itself was faster than before.
Max payne, SSam, NFSPU, UT, MB truck race, Aquanox were the games I tried, all did look fine. Have not had time to investigate those new functions yet.

Hmm, Q3, RTCW test, and HL are borked for me. Q3 and RTCW test are nothing more than white screens, at main menu, with black boxes where the buttons should be. Half Life crashes to desktop when trying to play a game. I've posted the problem on the x3dfx message board, so hopefully a fix is made or a setting is suggested.

Anyone else try these games with these drivers yet?

I've got them, and now I am using the new drivers from x3dfx instead of crappy wicked 3d drivers in Wolfenstein.
Everything works fine.
It looks like these guys know what they are doing.
I can highly recomend the new drivers...
Get them fast. Link to remember:

Long live 3dfx

Has anyone messed with the new FSAA options yet? I'm really wanting to know if you can REALLY get close to 4X quality with 2X speed. Wow, the 3Dfx version of Quincunx..or as close as we can ever get. I'll be messing with it myself, trust me, to see what I can do with it. And these aren't official, they're hacked/cracked/recompiled versions that have been put together in one suite.

Hmm, I couldn't get them to work properly, so I went back to the previous version.

I'm confused about seeing "new" drivers for unsupported graphic chips such as the ones from 3dfx and S3.

Sometimes I see "new" driver sets and they seem to be nothing more than assorted files packaged from different driver versions along with a modified *.inf file.

Are these 3dfx drivers truly "new" drivers in the sense that the people who release them have access to the source code?

The reason I'm interested is because I have a Voodoo3 3500 that I think would be great if someday I'll see "new" drivers for Win2k/XP. ;)

Well, no, they are not that kind of new drivers. Yes, they are the mix 'n match, tweaked files kind. Some of the tweaks are significant though, recent releases have included a number of settings options for FSAA that are reported(never tried them)to improve an already superior FSAA even more. You may want to check them out for your card, if they don't work well you can just go back to your current drivers(such as I did).

matheusber: you have a 3000 and not a 3500? the default win2k 3500 drivers work ok for regular windows for me, but I can't play games or watch TV. do you have this problem?
