New Vista Install from Hard Drive?

I have an older DVD ROM NEC dv-5800a. When I'm installing Vista, I get a message thatit needs drivers for the DVD player, even though I've already started on the install process. I've downloaded the drivers, but they have to be extracted to a floppy which I'd have to install...

Can I transfer the Vista files and install from a HG? How do you set up a hd to boot from with the MBR and system files?

I have Acronis True image 11 and Partion Magic, if any of those tools would help.

Other workarounds?
