Got an e-mail from "myself" just now. Its called price_new.zip. It has a doc_01.exe file inside it..Avg and AntiVir Personal Edition, both fully updated, do not detect it. Any virus experts here want this to investigate?

If I sent it to your gmail..I would have to rename the file extension..Gmail does not accept zip extensions do they?

We're getting numerous submission from users in our company. (we have over 20,000 mailboxes)
I've sent the copies we have to Symantec and Trend. (We have platinum level support...)
One response is that it is a Trojan. Obviously this is wrong, since it is mass-mailing.

One user said that if you run it, it will disable firewall and antivirus software! LOL!

I work in Virus Management/Network security and I'm on call this week... This is a great start to my week... 🙁

I think this one will cause some trouble, no antivirus as of yet seems to pick it up and it is spreading

You'd have to send it within a password protected zip or it will get quarantined regardless of the extension.

I'm onsite at Weyerhaeuser... It's an old wood products company, over 100 years old.
I personally work for EDS, who handles all the IT stuff for them now...

I sent the file to two people. Waiting to see if their AV detects it still. This should cause some unwanted fun for me tomorrow morning as I'm a techie for a University.

Symantec's phone system is now down!!! 😀
Too many callers??

BTW: 2/28/05 defs for Symantec won't catch it... I'm betting that about 11:30PM PST some new liveupdate and production defs should be out...
