New Virus?

I just recieved an email at a POP3 account of mine that is in the hands of maybe 10 to 20 individuals. I get no spam whatsoever on this account, so this email caught my attention.

The subject line was simply "Re:", and the only text in the message was ">Screen and Music". There was a file attachment, cool_mp3.cpl. CPL is a control panel file of sorts, though I'm not entirely sure what they're capable of doing. Regardless, I trashed the file immidiately, but I thought I'd post the info here.

Has anyone else heard of any worms/viruses that has this MO? Several googles came up blank, so I can't find out anything about this email.

I dont know, but a little while ago something flashed across my screen and installed something. I have a HW router with 128bit encryption and a firewall plus all my PCs on the network have sw firewalls and this thing, whatever it was, slipped thru. Gotta run a full check on all my crap now! Now my Megaspeed Broadband is running at only 3mbps instead of 5. Gotta call RCN and see whassup.

Might wanna run Windows Update while you're at it. That reminds me, I really should get Zonealarm on this system. Relying on my router's NAT firewall probably isn't the smartest thing in the world.
