Hey guys,

I got my brand new HIS x800gto turbo in the mail. My resolutions dont seem to be quite right I.E. desktop icons are alittle fuzzy.... and in game during the game my computer will close the game (any game) all other windows and logg off windows, then my computer turns off. This has just started happening. I completly uninstalled the previous ATI drivers prior to installing the new ones I have tryed 2 diffrent sets of drivers with no luck. any idea?

My system
AMD skt 939 3400
abit fatal1ty an8 mobo
His x800gto turbo pci-E
1gb kingston ram
rosewell 500W modular power supply

If your computer worked fine before you installed the new video card and now its doing the shutdown foxtrot, then the PSU maybe suspect.
I just came from my friend's computer store and he had the similar problem. His was a "brand named" PSU and after he replaced it, everything was fine. I'm not saying its your PSU, but it doesn't hurt to be careful. Your choice....

Yes I do, it does not crash correct. I just got the PSU its brand new also and its 500W modular. Ill run a virus scan but unless the virus came with the video card It seems weird it would start the day I get it.

did virus scan everything looks good, ran with latist version of pc cillin. the weird thing is, it isent a crash... it literally shuts down the game closes all windows and logg's off then turns itself off and stays off until I push the button to turn it back on.

Are you running any temp/fan rpm/voltagr monitoring software in the background that may be triggering a shutdown (asus probe, mbm, etc)?

The fact that it's actually doing a proper shutdown is bizarre, but leads me to believe that it's a software issue, not hardware.

ya I agree software issue, could it be nvida chipset on mobo and ati video card? After updating nvidia driver chipset some things appear to be less fuzzy on desktop it could just be me, but things till dont appear to be as clear as they should and resolutions dont seem correct either.
