Hey guys,

I'm not much of a hardcore gamer, but I think its about time to upgrade my Video card. I'm running a 64mb ATI Radeon... how sad is that? I have to set my resolution to 600x800 just so I can play CS Source without lag.

I'm running a Intel P4 2.6ghz with 640mb of 2700ram and I'm looking to spend anywhere from $100-$150 for an AGP video card (is PCIe really that much faster?). Suggestions as to what would be the best bang for the buck that would allow me to play CS Source and Battlefield 2 with as little lag as possible? My only requisite is that I can still run my dual LCD display.

Thanks in Advance

Im pretty NEWB when it comes to purchasing Video Cards...

from reviews and price, I'm debating between eVGA and Leadtech. eVGA has alot more positive reviews... any problems with that?

AGP and PCIe are roughly the same right now for speed. Not that you even need to think about PCIe unless you're thinking full upgrade.

Here's a suggestion. It has dual DVI out and is inside your budget.

Edit: Evga and Leadtek are good choices. Evga has a good rep for customer service.

sounds like a good deal to me. Thanks for the link... saves me shipping and tax.

Is Monarch as reliable as say... newegg?

Don't get XFX. Period.

The only 6600gt worth buying is the leadtek. It might be a little more expensive, but it's the best quality. The others are more likely to have problems.

confused.... but is it universally agreed upon that 6600GT is the best bang for the buck in terms of performance in the range of $100-150?

I'd go with either eVGA or Leadteck I've heard some bad things about XFX. I personally have the Gigabyte one, and I don't like it... The cooling on it is pretty bad, so its running at like 60C idling.

Definately, here you go: Leadtek.

Oh wait dang that's not dual DVI... lemme look around some more.
Oops and it's PCIe, ok nvm that card...

The closest thing to your budget on Newegg is this PNY, but I don't know about that brand.
Leadtek and eVGA both don't offer dual-DVI 6600GT cards, so your best bet would be to look for a BFG on sale.

....uhh... thanks?

No, but really, Thanks.

I'll probably go w/ eVGA on Monarch... I don't really need the dual DVI... I'm currently running one on VGA anyway.

Evga is a good way to go, but I've never had any issues with my my own XFX 6600GT. In fact, it OC's fairly well with the Zalman VF700-Cu I put on it.

About Monarch, personally I have ordered from them 6 or 7 times and I had one thing go goofy which they fixed quickly.
