New Video Card Questions/Concerns

Ok, not in a huge rush to run out and grab a new vid card. I could care less for Kepler since odds are there not going to be many games to push it except perhaps BF3 and well, not huge into FPS.

My basic system is:

Core i5-750 OC'd to 3.5Ghz
8GB Ram
650HX PSU
GB-P55 USB3 MB
Raven 02E case
1680x1050 (May upgrade to a larger monitor in time, so next card would need to be able to power the higher rez).

I realize if I want to SLI will have to get a new MB. But besides the MB, would the 650 be enough to SLI a GTX 560Ti?

Would my CPU bottleneck the GPU (even if I do go SLI or CF?), even with a 570 or even a 580?

Would grabbing one of the 560Ti's with the 2GB of VRAM be more advisable than the normal 1GB version?

You should be ok, I think with 2 560 ti's your system will pull about round 450-500w under a load but if you plan to oc them you will want a bigger psu.

as far as bottle necking im not sure.

It all depends on how many amps are on the 12-volt rail. I have a 700w with 4 rails at 18 amps apiece for a total of 72 amps and I'm running 2 heavily overclocked eVGA GTX 460 1GBs in SLI.

How many rails and how many amps does your 650w put out

you might want to read your label again because you actually have 56 amps combined for 12v. thats because you are not supposed to just add the rails together.

single rail 52 amps
you would be okay for gtx560 ti sli unless you did some crazy overclocking on them. at 1680 though I would get a gtx570 over a gtx560 ti 2gb and you want even have to worry about adding another card for SLI.
