New video card - problems

I just picked up a Visiontek Xtasy Ti4200 64MB. Whenever I try to 3dMark it, it gets around 6 tests done, and then comes up with an "Out of Memory" error and shuts down.

I have no idea what could be causing this, if anyone has any help to offer please let me know? I'm wondering if it's just my Windows leaking memory badly (I have XP Professional)

1) Using the newest detonators?
2) XP Pro is usually very good about memory management.

I have the 30.82 version of the detonator drivers.

Also, when I run games, it freezes them. This was happening before I got the new card.

i had a similar problem.
are the game crashing AFTER the "3d part" of the games kick in?
if so, then experiment with different versions of the Via 4-In-1 Drivers and DentonatorXP drivers.
after a few hours of experimenting, i found that the via 4.28 / 4.32 / 4.43 & DetonatorXP 23.11 / 27.50 / 29.42 drivers seem to work fine. try mixing and matching between them, you`ll eventually find a combination that works.

hope this helps your problem.

If it was happening before you got the new card, sounds like the problem isn't the card or drivers. Have you run DxDiag.exe to see if it's not a problem with maybe your sound card or even something wrong with DirectX.

The Out of Memory error could be a few different things, most likely your swap file is improperly sized, could also be a bad bit somewhere in one of your memory sticks, memory timings to fast, or a flakey memory controller. Have you tried a fresh software load? What are your system specs?
