I am getting $300 for my tax return(part time student dependent). Right now i have a:
athlon xp3000+
512mb ram
geforce fx5200
120 maxtor SATA 7200rpm(love this games load way faster).

Right now when i play battlefield vietnam and america's army. Bot of them i have to set at a medium quality and 800X600 on my 19" monitor. Otherwise they get choppy.

What is better to buy another gig of ram and have some money left over and i'll have 1.5gigs of ram or buy a radeon x800 pro for $380. I just want to run my games at the full detail and 1024x768 Thanks in advance. I also want to get my game ready for the upcoming battlefield 2.

Video card by a mile, but I'd recommend a 6800GT if you want to spend ~$400 (unless you can get a real good deal on the X800Pro).

If you get both of these you will be able to play all current and future games smoothly at 1024x768 with your current system. The total is about $350 but that is less than the $380 you quoted for x800 pro, and you really need another 512 of ram. good luck
