So is everybody going to update to these? Should I update my Asus A8V even though it's not a "particularly recommended" chipset?

It says KT400 or newer, and Via K8T800/pro is newer

Installed these yesterday on my K8T Master2-FAR and no problems yet. Some benching revealed no real performance increase in the areas tested, but I surmise preventing some bugs from cropping up without them is the main benefit.

Agreed. I've installed them too...but I doubt performance will change. Probably just some bug fixes, which is fine by me!
