From my source, it was stated to be a boost for KT400A which is now available. FWIW.

I put them on this morning.... really didn't see anything change from the 446. (I'm on KT400)

3DMarks stayed the same... (but I had received a BIG boost when I went from XP natives to 446 earlier)

Ooops, sorry looks like you were first in the Gen.Hdwr. though I searched on Hyperion and didn't find anything. Guess I should have used another string.

Is it really necessary to reinstall Det after updating the Hyperion drivers?

I would have said no before today.....

but I installed the 447s and then ran 3DMark2001.... in the lobby (low detail) all the agents turned red, very red when the muzzle flashes went off.

a re-install of the dets (upgrade drivers, pointing to unzipped detonator 43.45s) took care of it.

first time I have seen that happen.

I'd just install the hyperon 447s first, boot and then try running 3DMark or a game and see if the video seems right.

If it is ferked up, then re-install the video card drivers.

I don't think you will need to worry about DirectX sound cards, etc... for me it was only the video card drivers.

I was caught off gaurd with the need to do even this. It seems like every other time I have upgraded the 4-in1s, this was never an issue

My machine and video card are OC'd and were at the time of my upgrading (which is a no-no). Maybe it was just something like that. I also had

stuff running in the background (DC stuff, keyboard, virtual CD drives, etc... (which is also a no-no).

I wouldn't worry too much.

my guess is that this was more a ferk up of mine than of the hyperon drivers.

What diff does it make if the machine and vid card is OC-ed during the upgrade?

well, that's a "no-no" because when you OC, if you have taken the system a little bit too far, more data errors get presented.
which means you have a better chance of corrupted files during transfers.

I really don't worry about it because my OC is moderate and if I really believed I was generating errors, I'd back off the OC for everyday use until I no longer held that suspicion.

I only mentioned that because if I didn't someone else would.
