New VIA 4-in-1 Drivers out 12/2

Why anyone bothers with VIA or its "4/1 drivers" is beyond me. What a hassle. I never did get VIA to work properly.

Odd.. my KT266A board seems to be working fine on default Microsoft/Linux drivers. Why should I install 4in1 drivers at all?

Silence! You are supposed to belong to that sub-culture of computer users who applies updates for the sake of applying updates whether or not there is any cause to. DO IT NOW! And make sure you do it without making a backup of your current configuration so that if something goes wrong you can blame it all on VIA.

Oooo, hey! Download some hacked beta drivers and hacked beta BIOS from an 'enthusiast' site, then update them at the same time. Your Quake III frame rates are guaranteed to increase .0001%. DO IT NOW!

I have a KT400 that's running just fine on the old 4in1's.

Oh, wait, Microsoft is telling me there are some 'critical' updates to win2k... I'd better go get those too. And I won't bother reading what they are either! 😛
