Heck, aren't the 4.26's still in beta? Anyway, Ace, you know when the WIN2K SP2 will be out in final form? That ATA100 support is needed badly... I don't want to install the busmaster drivers, cuz when the system reads the drives as SCSI, it isn't a good match for dvd and burning programs...

DCDomain............I agree, the busmastering in them is bad news w/burners & DVD IMO.......also messed with my LS-120! Also, anyone know of any problems with SP1? I used to load it fine......now it will not load with out file detection problems! take out my Net card etc., but always F**ks my install so lately I've said the heck with it! Just wondering if there's something I missed......been down for a while with Back Fusion Surgery and just getting back up to speed......

I have a comment... i installed these and had to remove them right away. under Win 2000, my system hit blue screens with very wierd error messages on boot, and kept rebooting over, and over, and over.... Arrggh!!!!

Had to start in safe mode and remove the drivers. Everything is working great again.

I installed them last night minus the busmaster driver and everything is fine.

Why didn't you install the busmaster driver John?

The busmaster driver is responsible for a lot of compatibility issues between DVD players, ASPI and IDE CD writers. Funny thing is under Windows 2000 on my system, Power DVD 3.0 will not work with them on but the ATi player (the one that came with the Radeon) does work.

hmm i remember hearing about VIA's ATAPI drivers being inferior to that of MS's in terms of performance... in the 4.27 patch, i installed the VIA ones for the heck of it

Hey that happened to me, and I didn't think much of it. But now I want to uninstall the 4.28.. how do I do that?

I get instant lock ups whenever i try and burn a Cd with my Kenwood 72x and 12x plextor, grrrrrr!
