New VIA 4.38a 4 in 1's (revised and released on 3/21)

Ok just installed them on my WinXP & I had no problems ,tried out 3dmark2001SE and few games which are all ok 🙂.

Btw these are no longer zipped 4 in 1 drivers.

Edit: Looks like VIA updated these and released an updated version today (3/21) 4.38a.... I see NFS4 posted them on the front page....

So is there any performance gains or is this just a compatibility tweak? I am still using the 4.33 4in1s that came on my KR7A utility disk. I'm debating whether or not to d/l these or just stick with the older set.

Does anyone know what version of VIA's 4in1 are used with WindowsXP (fresh install), or is it completely different set of drivers from VIA's 4in1 drivers?

Which one is better the 4.38 or winXP drivers?

I`m using the latest version(4.38a) in my WinXP and they are just newer version of the default ones included in WinXP,the new AGP driver (in the 4.38a) is supposed to give you a very slight speed increase.

As for stability well no problems here,I believe the default drivers that come with XP are 4.32 or 4.33(not sure on this).

The latest 4.38a VIA 4 in 1 drivers are for all Microsoft Operating systems including XP,up to you if you want to install them.

Agree with BFG. Did a fresh install a while back and chose not to install the 4in1s and use the default XP drivers. Funny no hangs, crashes or BSOD's. Running the same programs and drivers... guess who the culprit was?
