lol , those are good.

Unfortunately, the joke's on us of course, it doesn't matter which company you use or what product, it's all being monitored/stored.

Boohoo, so you'd rather pedophiles and sodomizers don't get caught? When laws are being broken on a consistent basis, you need to up the enforcement until the behavior stops. Stop the behavior and we can get our privacy back, no sooner.

My concern isn't that people continue to perform these activities, it is that our right to privacy is being violated. Want to monitor a person's phone calls. Alright, get a warrant. Want to monitor a person's internet activity? Get a warrant. Want to monitor someone's credit card activities? Get a fucking warrant.

Not sure if you're serious or not (I would guess this is sarcasm, but hell, you never really know on the internet), but just for the lulz, I'll bite anyway: how many pedos have been caught because of phone monitoring? I'll have you know that "sodomy" isn't actually illegal, so I'll skip that bit.

Good luck with convincing those who are against the war on drugs of that... ;)

I have nothing to hide. Therefore, I don't care. They can listen to me talk to my Grandma on the phone if they want.

Ah great, if you have nothing to hide you have nothing to fear. This always leads to wonderful places. Civil liberties be damned.

Well said.

My problem isn't the specifics or when it started, it's the progressive nature of the infringement. Clinton was the worst ever; W Bush was worse then he. Now Obama is the least transparent, most intrusive President we've had in my lifetime, and everyone here knows that, no matter from which side of the aisle he springs, the next President will be worse yet. He or she will be less transparent, more intrusive, and less respectful of our rights while campaigning on (and later claiming to have) the administration which is the most transparent, the most ethical, and the biggest supporter of human rights ever.

If we don't get this shit under control, it matters not whether you find this particular policy egregious, because soon enough things will come to that point for you too.
