New Venice/San Diego Seti Machine

Hi Folks,

I was wondering if anyone in our group was getting ready to put together a new AMD core crunching machine? Or if anyone here has done so already? I thought a thread here with insights and tips for our group might be helpful?

There are concerns on motherboard and BIOS compatibility between existing motherboards and new Venice core CPUs. I'm waiting to find out before I make the jump from my socket A system.

Just waiting for AMD to ship me the CPUs/boxes. If I get them before someone else does, I'll post results. Right now, FX55 does 1h 20m WUs at stock, give or take about 5 minutes.

How many of those FX55's do you have running SETI. That is an awesome time

Right now, just two. But I've also got a FX53 and a FX51 to compare with (in addition to a Dual Opteron 252, and a Quad Opteron 850).

I do enjoy benchmarking so very much.
