New Vegas: bug or feature...

I did the
Vault 11 stuff and "ended the process." Not having been there for any reason other than having the Explorer Perk i killed everything and then ended up in the Sacrificial Chamber. I killed the bots and tried the options on the terminal. One of them gave me 500XP, then i clicked the same one again and it gave me another 500XP, so i clicked again and got 1000XP, ... etc. At the end of the day i gained 2 or 3 levels.
Is this a bug, or a feature?

EDIT: BTW, the "patch" which was automatically applied (friday?) made the game more unstable and it looks worse--if thats possible.

But you need to run spoilers over more than just two words in this post. I haven't been to Vault 11 yet, and now I know what's going to happen when I get there.

No you dont. You have no idea what happens there. If you do, then you read it somewhere else because my description is as generic as Vault 34, 42, 99, and whatever other vault is out there. If youre worried about the bug/feature then just dont go there.
