so far I am loving the iphone! Very fun to play with, lets see how feature deep it can go though :

Is there anyway to take the contacts from my SIM card and put them on my Iphone, or when I add a new contact it saves them to the sim card?

Is there a way to use the WIFI as a VOIP type of thing, like my blackberry used to do...It helped when I was in a no cell basement, I could just call out with , using the WIFI using my blackberry.

How can I delete icons on my front page type place (where settings, itunes, etc) is? I made one on accident.

Is there a way to close applications? Like if youtube is still running, or safari, etc? Or does it not effect battery life that much?

Does apple repair broken LCDs? It was not the touchscreen portion, its just hte outer LCD that is cracked..or is that not a part of warranty? how about battery--is that covered?

Is it possible to set bookmarks on the iphone from, say firefox? I have a huge bookmarks list that id like to carry over, or sync up with!

I am using a jailbroken 1.1.4 or whatever, because 2.0 is not breakable yet!
 
1. Not that I know of.

2. Again, not that I know of. There has been talk of a Skype app, but as far as I know, nothing has been released yet.

3. Hold your finger on the icon til the icons start wiggling. Press the x in the upper left corner of the icon. Then press the Home button.

4. If you are not currently using an application, it does not run in the background.

5. Sometimes. Reports vary. It seems to depend on how nice the person at the Apple store is.

6. No. You'll have to transfer your bookmarks from Firefox to Safari.

Btw, 2.0 has been jailbroken.
 
There is another topic here in All Things Apple about transferring your bookmarks from FireFox to Safari and back again. You can get both of them as .html files, so you just need to copy and paste.

But I do not think that app is what I am talking about...it looks like I have to use the APP itself to call out...I was thinking something where it would just automatically use the WIFI, for SMS/calls in and out...unless I misread somewhere, but I do not think it does that.

I know 2.0 has been jailbroken, they just have not released the app yet.

How lucky do you think I would get going into the apple store with my jailbroken phone to get the LCD replaced? 😛

If I have my mail setting to check email every 15 minutes, does that guzzle battery life?
 
Contacts - I know that AT&T stores can help with this, not sure on the details of it. If you have an electronic copy, you can import it into the windows address book and sync that to your iphone.

Bookmarks - check iTunes, I know you can sync with IE, don't remember if it will sync with Firefox, but it's possible. If nothing else, transfer into IE, and then sync with itunes.
