one of my tires has a bubble, so that means it needs replacing..... The tires have about 65% of its life left. You think it is alright to just replace 1 tire that has similair tread life (same exact tire, ofcourse)? At about $120 a piece, doing all 4 is costly, especially since there is around 65% tread left. Ebay has the tire for $20.

That's what I've been doing to my and my brother's cars, because I don't see why I shouldn't.

One of OEM tires on my car (G37x Coupe) had not-fixable puncture (too close to sidewall). Since I drove only 13k miles with them at that time (the expected life for those Dunlop OEMs are 30k+ miles according to fellow G37 owners) and mine indeed had about 6~7/32nd tread left, I decided to buy one from ebay with similar tread. I visually inspected the tire first, and when I brought it to the installer, I had him to take a closer look again. It was all good, and installed to replace the flat one. Everything is good so far.
