He's black so it must be something he can put at least 20" wheels on. Something that shows he has money. He's a 28yr old black male so of course he wants a car with brand image associated with it.

Yeah, any stereotypes aside, sounds like this guy wants something that has a badge/status appeal, as well as being something that can be tricked up a bit. It's why I recommended the 5-series, it's got a lot of space/comfort/luxury, and can be kitted out pretty nice for an urban street cruiser.

Would he do a c5 vette even though it's a bit older, I'm guessing you could find ones with lower miles? Because a C6 is prolly out of the price range. Otherwise if it has to be auto, sigh, G35/G37 coupe, E46 M3, or even an E46 330i coupe with ZHP package, S4 or S6, Cobra? How tall is he, is he going to fit well into a coupe?

Nothing says "street presence" like an '03-'04 Cobra. Too bad it's manual.

Depends what kind of street presence we're talking about. Look at me I have money or take cover before I go 1/8th throttle and eat your family?

He's 6'2", he's driven my G35 coupe a few times without issue.

Definitely more look at me than asphalt burner.

i dont care if he doesnt want a pontiac... all you need to do is show him a decent picture of the G8 GT, which i bet you can get for a good deal, is he doing cash or finance? if finance i believe there is 0% for 72 and that is a HUGE savings... if you run an amortization and compare to regular rebates vs financing, and he can invest that money at 1% thats a positive... the G8 GT has available 20" wheels, comes standard with a decent amount of exterior chrome, and well... it can look like this...

hell, just show him that picture and ask if he can haz streetz prezence...

What is with people and the G8 love? The thing is hideous from the front. Those stupid vents on the hood ruin what might otherwise be a nice looking vehicle. Other than the Solstice, Pontiac fucks up every design by by not knowing when to stop. The early 90s Firebirds looked good, but by the end of that things life it looked like it been riced out by a 12 year old with ADHD.

Yeah, I like and respect the G8, but I can't stand the hood scoops and front end work. The original Aussie design is worlds cleaner and classier.

OP, what does he think of the 5-series? You can get a car that sold for $70k for ~$25k now with lots of luxury goodies, and there's plenty that can be done to dress up the appearance, as the links from cardomain show.

V6 Camaro. That car has street presence like you would not believe. It looks sophisticated yet wild at the same time. Neighbor has a black one, and I drool over it on a daily basis.

Possibly. Though if they sell decently, there will be a bazillion of them on the roads in no time.

Well, yes, when you have a great product for a great price, that tends to happen. I am sure there will be good aftermarket for these cars too if one feels the need to customize them, not to mention all the dealer installed options.

He's got rubber bands on those things. It probably has the same ride comfort as a 1800s horse-drawn carriage. Diminished ride quality AND performance FTL.

Your homie wants street cred and a comfy car to cruise:

Tell him buy a brand new Hyundai Genesis V6 in lime green Pic

That or a used Mustang GT Roush or Saleen. Pic

How about a plum crazy Charger SRT and a set of twenty-twos! Pic

I imagine he is never gonna track the car and just wants sumin to stunt with. Needs to put some slap in his ride with some big shoes.

I fully support the 05/06 Goat suggestions. I think that the cars look absolutely amazing (Adam has one of the nicest I've seen), and they have enough "get up and go" to launch you back into your seat.

I got to ride in my Dad's bosse's 06'? 6 speed as he proceeded to give me a nice sore neck from pressing the loud pedal.

A ton of mods should be available if that's what he's into, and from what I'm seeing you can get some really sick exhaust notes with some exhaust upgrades.

---Shit, just saw that last point, no Pontiacs.

Err....'03/'04 Cobra and call it a day?

I agree with you totally, but for someone who wants the urban baller look, it's a good fit. I'm not one to judge other people's preferences if I can help it.

This guy sounds more like black on black 300C with the lambo doors, 24" wheels, Bentley grill, and a 50" LCD facing out the back window...

LOL @ "street presence"

But hey, at least this guy isn't the Bubb Rubb type who puts whistle tips on his hoopty...

Here's a shot of my old GTO with my old 335: link

Both cars have "street presence".
