I made a tin foil lined duct tape case for my RFID passport. :frown:

It's silly and unnecessary. The only decoration on it should be expressly designed to foil counterfeiters.

because being proud of your countries heritage makes one egotistical? I guess if you want to boil it down, nationalism and patriotism is egotistical, but do you really feel it can be explained in such a simple manner?

In regards to the RFID, it is illegal to deface a passport visually (hence, taking out the chip is illegal). However, it is not illegal for someone to take a hammer and smash the chip. That solution may be easier than making a tin foil duct tape pouch/cover.
