New updates changed my OUtlook, why?

Hi, today I turned on my computer to read a message saying windows updates had been installed. I noticed it cleared my Desktop Background, rearranged all my icons, and outlook is acting like I never set it up. I checked the update history and there are quite a few updated for Microsoft office done today along with some others for windows. But the description of the updates are very general. Anyone having this problem?

I have windows 7 and am running Microsoft Office 2013.

KB2817630 (released this week) has been widely reported to cause problems with Outlook 2013. Google around for details.
