what i find odd is that YOU GUYS HAD TO HEAR ABOUT IT FROM ME.
isn't it kind of odd that these numbers - the figures were announced Thursday, so in a way it's "yesterday's news" - are not in this morning's news ?!
You are a week behind that news was all around Friday LAST week. Notice the Feb 6 on your link in your original post. And, it was reported everywhere. See
CNN. Or see
NY Times I didn't bother checknig Drudge Report and Yahoo and the rest you mentioned, but I bet if you looked LAST week you'd see it too. Of course it isn't on the main pages now since you are a week behind.
And, no we didn't hear from you first. It was
already on Anandtech forums.
i was going to say, "Phew !! i just missed it, which means Yahoo/ Associated Press and Yahoo/Finance missed it".
but, the articles you linked to are for 600K jobs per month. that unfortunate trend has been going on in December 2008 and January 2009.
so, one of the reasons i'm asking the Anandtech Brain Trust about it is, i don't entirely trust the World Socialist Web Site.
the articles you cited mention job losses at the rate of 600K per month - not, per week. there's a pretty significant difference.
is the economy really contracting at the rate of 2.4 million job losses per month ?
