I never got into them. It was always kind of like Dave Matthews Band to me: It's not bad, it's just utterly, painfully generic and uninteresting. Sort of a "Pop/Rock: Exhibit A"

Big U2 fan, have tons of live stuff I have collected over the years.
Sadly, if the rest of the album is like 'get your boots' then we are screwed.
The only good thing is that every bad album is followed by a really good one.

Get Your Boots is absolutely terrible and probably the worst track on the album by far (if not one of the worst U2 songs ever released). When I heard this song I thought for sure that this album was doomed to failure.
However, I've since listened to the entire album, and overall I think it's pretty good. There are tracks I like, tracks I really like, and of course a handful that I don't care for. This isn't the "Joshua Tree" of the 2000s a lot of people are trying to make it out to be, but it's a decent album, and probably better than the previous two.
Am I one of the only U2 fans on the planet that actually likes Pop (a lot)?![]()

How can you get sick of their pre-90s stuff? That's the ONLY stuff worth listening too.
I love me some U2, don't get me wrong, but there is definitely a line in the sand where they switched sounds, musical aesthetics... the whole 9 yards. I enjoy some of the newer stuff, but it can't hold a candle to the old stuff. War? October? Come on... that's classic flawless shit there.
