I don't hate them, nor do i like them; i guess i never really cared for that band all that much. I noticed that my local radio station is freaking out because the new album drops soon, and they've been playing a lot of their songs for most of the morning.

I think the new stuff is pretty bad, i much rather listen to the older stuff (Joshua Tree), anybody here a fans?

They started sucking right after Joshua Tree.
(Now I want to do some shrooms with Ari.)

I pretty much hate Bono by now. And like others said, it all went downhill fast after Joshua Tree.

I never got into them. It was always kind of like Dave Matthews Band to me: It's not bad, it's just utterly, painfully generic and uninteresting. Sort of a "Pop/Rock: Exhibit A"

I heard it wasn't great. I will check it out anyway. If it's anything like the last album I hope that soon Bono finds his vocal chords don't work and the edge's fingers are cut off when he awakes one morning because their last album, other than City of Blinding Lights, was an all out embarrassment, just a damn shame and like a trainwreck.

The first single o this album is on the net and radio stations and is pretty much blah, so I'm not that optimistic.

I am looking forward to the prodigy's new album in a week or so.

Yea great combo of comedy and music - bit like flight of the concords but standup and more English. Try the DVDs, but not the latest one, it's just repeated material done worse than it was the first time. Part Troll and Cosmic Jam are good.

Getting the digipak deluxe version Tuesday along with Empires: Total War. I'd get the single CD, but I love them, and want something 'more', just not $80 more like the magazine super deluxe version.

I'm not really into the first single, so hopefully the rest is better. The last album was great when I first listened to it, but the luster came off pretty quickly. On the otherhand, my primary 'goto' U2 albums are Zooropa and Pop with some Achtung. I just go 'wtf' everytime I think about what they did in the '90s and squeal like a tween seeing the Jonas Bros at the same time.

They were fucking god in the 80s. They've done nothing but suck shit since then.

Seriously, listen to their old stuff. It rocks.

I listened to most of it through the U2 website. It's meh to me.

Achtung Baby remains my favorite U2 album, followed by Joshua Tree, All That You Can't Leave Behind, and Zooropa.

Big U2 fan, have tons of live stuff I have collected over the years.

Sadly, if the rest of the album is like 'get your boots' then we are screwed.

The only good thing is that every bad album is followed by a really good one.

I have to adjust my listening of bands as they get older. One should never compare the latest work with their peak. Otherwise, you'll never be enjoy it on its own merit. Plus, very few singer or bands sound like they did 20 yrs ago. That said, I found All That You Can't Leave Behind a decent album, but the last one to be mediocre.

In a way, it's funny to hear people refer to Joshua Tree as "old U2". I first got into U2 with October and "Gloria". My fav album is still Under a Blood Red Sky.

BTW, the latest album is Amazon's MP3 Daily Deal. $4.

They suck shit after Zooropa. I also hate them for other reasons, like with the release of "Under a Blood Red Sky" DVD where they cut a huge portion of Electric co. the part where he goes into the bring in the clowns. I loved that sequence and they nixed it on the DVD. Its on my betamax and vhs. Apparently they are too fucking cheap to have paid for the license to use the music. I mean c'mon! U2 has billions of bucks, they couldnt spring for the license? Cheap bastards. Like when they were in NYC about 12 years ago and had an allnight private party at a restauraunt and the waiters and waitresses had to work 24hrs straight and U2 DID NOT LEAVE A TIP!!!!!! In NYC waiters live mostly on tips, and these cheapass mofos left no tip. So basically the waiters busted their ass for nothing.
