So it's time to get a new TV. Cashed in all the credit card points for bestbuy gift cards. I've narrowed my choices down to the following:

I'm leading towards the Mitsubishi but I don't know their build quality. Just a few questions about DLP that I'd like answered if possible.

Does it die after 5-10 years like plasma?
Is screen burn in a possibility or is this risk just exaggerated?
Rainbow effect?

Thanks!

DLPs and LCOS (SXRD) don't have half lives like plasma's, you'll just need to replace the bulb when they go bad. You're 2nd set, the Sony is not a DLP, therefore it doesn't have a colorwheel and isn't susceptable to the rainbow effect. Samsung also has newer non color wheel DLPs that use LEDs instead of the color wheel. Also the newer color wheels spin faster and have more colors so the rainbow effect isn't as pronounced to those who do see it. Personally, I'd go with the Sony SXRD or a Samsung DLP. I've had my Sammy for 3 years and can't say enough good things about it. You'll need to go see them n person to see which you prefer.
